Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain: A fantastic alternative tour to the popular “Rainbow Mountain”. Palcoyo rainbow mountains offers a more relaxed and peaceful place option is best for those who don’t want to hike 4 hours round trip, providing an amazing view of 3 distinct rainbow mountains, the stone forest and the Ausangate glacier in the distance in only a short 30 min walk (0ne way).

Checacupe 3 bridges: Checacupe is a special place where you will see 3 different bridges and have the opportunity to cross the Inca bridge which is an amazing experience.

  • Due to early pick up time of services, we recommend you to book your hotel in Cusco city center. But in case you are staying in an AirBnB accommodation, we can arrange the pick up from a well known location. eg. Plaza de Armas
  • We organize this tour everyday, for this reason we recommend the passengers stay at least one whole day in Cusco to Acclimatize, this is a prerequisite to go on this tour because you start to walk over 4800 mts (15091 fts).
  • It is recommended to not take part in the trek if over 65 years of age or in poor physical conditions. Due to the high altitude and steep climbing, it can be dangerous for your health. Other tour operators won’t tell you this, so be very careful.



06:30 - 08:30 : Pick up - Transportation to Checacupe

The adventure begins very early with our team picking you up from your hotel at 06:00 hrs and heading to the small village of Checacupe (located south of Cusco). Where, we will make a stop to see an inca and a colonial bridge and also to grab some last-minute items like drinks, snacks, sunblock, rain poncho, etc.


08:30 - 11:00 : Explore the Palcoyo Rainbow Mountains

After the short stop we continue one more hour to the base camp. Once we arrive there, we take a short and gradual uphill walk (30-45 minutes) to the Palcoyo Pass (4880m/16,000ft). Here you will have spectacular panoramic views of the 3 Rainbow Mountains and the spectacular Palccoyo peaks as well, as the highest mountain in the Cusco region (Ausangate). We will spend 1 hour at the pass taking pictures, having a snack, and enjoying the spectacular view.


11:00 - 12:00 : Return to Checacupe and Lunch

Once we are done enjoying the scenery we walk back down by the same way to the base camp. We now take our private transport to the village called Checacupe and before that we make a stop in a beautiful place to enjoy our box lunch with picnic or in a tent , according the weather. 


13:00 - 18:00 :Return to Cusco

After the lunch we continue to explore one of the last remaining Inca Rope Suspension Bridge, in Checacupe. After taking some time to walk across the bridge, take pictures and enjoy the area we take our private transport back to Cusco arriving about 18:00 hours.
