We start walking in Tambomachay which is a peaceful Inca site consisting of a series of delicately carved aqueducts, canals, and waterfalls that run through the terraced rocks.. After that we continue to Pucapucara, Qenqo and finaly to Sacsayhuaman.
During Inca times, Puca Pucara was located on the road that lead to the Antisuyo provice of the Inca Empire. Historians beleive that it used as a guard post that protected access to Cusco from the marauding tribes of the Amazonian east.
In Quechua, Qenqo means labyrinth or zig-zag and the temple is named for the crooked canal cut out of its rock. It is one of the largest huacas (holy places) in the Cusco Region. Many huacas were based on naturally occurring rock formations. It was believed to be a place where sacrifices and mummification took place.
Saksaq Waman (possibly from Quechua language, waman falcon or variable hawk) is a citadel on the northern outskirts of the city of Cusco, Peru, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. Sections were first built by the Killke culture about 1100; they had occupied the area since 900. The complex was expanded and added to by the Inca from the 13th century; they built dry stone walls constructed of huge stones.
