Pampachiri Stone Forest and Smurfs House tour – Abancay, Perú
The stone forest in Pampachiri, also known as Pampa de Pabellones or Pancula, is a unique volcanic formation of pointy rocks that reach up to 10 meters high that surprises tourist who visit as if they visit to another planet!
And the Smurfs Village or Smurf Houses (Casa de los Pitufos) resembles those mushroom-shaped houses where a local family live.

Day 1 : Cusco - Abancay
15:00 – 20:00 : Pick up – Transportation to Abancay – Overnight
We depart for our adventure at 15:00 from your hotel in Cusco. We drive to the city of Abancay along the way we will stop at viewpoints to take photos of the amazing Andes, and Salkantay mountain.
After driving about 4 hours, we will arrive to our hotel in Abancay where will have dinner and sleep.
Hotel 3*: (El Peregrino or similar)
Day 2 : Pampachiri Smurf Village and Rock Forest
06:00 – 13:00 : Breakfast – Transportation to Pampachiri – Smurfs House and Stone Forest
We will wake up early (about 5:00am) and after breakfast in the hotel, we drive to Pampachiri through beautiful scenery, on this way is possible to see wildlife (animals like vizcachas, vicuñas, wild horses, etc).
After 3 hours driving we will arrive to the Smurfs House, and meet a local family who lives there and learn more about their lifestile. This place is a rocky formation that resembles those mushroom-shaped houses. After being anout 40 minutes there, we continue 20 minutes driving to Pampachiri Stone Forest (Bosque de Piedras) which is a formation of hundreds of stones in the shape of cones by the eruption of two volcanoes giving a natural volcanic formation where we will have the guided tour for 2 hours guided tour, and a short trekking.
13:00 – 20:00 : Lunch – Transportation to Abancay – Cusco
We will then have lunch in a beautiful scenery. After lunch, we will catch our private van and go to Abancay city where we stop for buying some water or buy snacks, and after that we continue to Cusco for 4 hours more.
